Director profile
Jov was born in a circus. His natural mother wrestled crocodiles and tamed polar bears for a living. His natural father was a matador she had met while performing in Madrid. Jov was fostered into a veterinary family in Devon. He was raised in a veterinary hospital where exotic creatures were part of the family. Jov visited his circus family on vacations. He left home and school at fifteen, studied acting and became a friend of R.O. Lenkiewicz and family. It was then that he started experimenting with film and video.
Filmography
Jov worked as an actor and theatre director at Riverside Studios, and the Duchess London, founding the Creation Theatre Company at the Marlborough Theatre. He went on to study Film & Philosophy at Reading University with Richard Kwietniowski, before returning to graduate BA Hons. in Film Production from Westminster University.
Jov began work in Television for the BBC's film documentaries at Ealing Film Studios, on Arenas, Under the Sun, and Forty Minutes and then went on to location manage and assistant producer the LWT Agatha Christie's Poirot drama series. He has lived in New York, Paris, London and Prague, working with directors like Steven Soderbergh and Brian De Palma. He first signed as a feature writer / director with award winning producer Roy Millichip of Wide Blue Yonder, and later with Jacky Ouaknine at CDF Paris. Jov has directed music promos, commercials, and shorts for companies like Sony, BMG, Atlantic and Saatchi's. Jov now lives and works in London as a freelance writer / director, concentrating on his feature projects. He is a member of the Directors Guild GB.
