About the film

EMPOWERMENT is an original feature script. It's a 110 mins of edgy hackle up, techno-cultic psycho-conspiracy thriller, with moments of well deserved laughter to relieve the tension. It is a film about the banality of evil that threatens two sisters. In a climate of uncertainty and threat there is an increased popular fascination with conspiracy and the occult. EMPOWERMENT addresses these fears through drama and satire. The STYLE is minimalist hyper-realism. Combining the texture of CCTV and undercover reportage, the images are nevertheless composed. As references the film will aim to achieve an atmosphere between Rosemary's Baby and Dr. Strangelove.

Sometime in the near present every call, email, website visited, is recorded. Every moment of your life is observed. Every face is a biometric fingerprint. For your own safety, you are protected from terrorism. A therapy cult that promises the total success and happiness they call EMPOWERMENT. Within the psychologically charged cult, through the process of NLP brainwashing and ritual, ordinary people behave stranger than fiction.
